Meet the Team

 Couture Virtual Consultants was co-founded by Jessica Bernal and Alisia Ortega. We know first-hand how much work goes into starting, growing, and maintaining a business. We want you to have the time to focus on the work that brings you joy. Together we have over 20 years of combined experience working in the legal, business and nonprofit sector. We have broad knowledge in immigration law, paralegal support, administrative services and digital marketing.

Co-Founder

Jessica Bernal

Jessica Bernal is the Co-Founder of Couture Virtual Consultants.  She received a B.A. in Communication and Minor in Spanish from the University of Nebraska Omaha. She received an accelerated certificate in Legal Studies from Metropolitan Community College. Jessica is fluent in English and Spanish. 

Jessica worked in the nonprofit sector for over a decade. During that time she held several positions. She was previously the Senior Director of Program Services where she was responsible for developing, directing, and overseeing  the Immigration Legal Services, Microbusiness and Asset Development, and Emergency Food Services programs. 

 

In addition, Jessica was the Director of Immigration Legal Services for over five years where she managed the day-to-day operations of two office locations and provided legal supervision to the program staff.  Jessica also represented clients before the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the Executive Office of Immigration Review- Omaha Immigration Court.

 

Jessica is originally from Chicago, Illinois and loves spending time with her family. She enjoys traveling, shopping, a good cup of coffee and pampering her Maltese dog, Coco.

Co-Founder

Alisia Ortega

Alisia Ortega is a Co-Founder of Couture Virtual Consultants. She attended the University of Iowa where she received a B.A. in Spanish and Music, a minor in Portuguese and a Certificate in Latin American Studies. Alisia is bilingual in English and Spanish.

She began her career working at a non-profit in Chicago, Illinois. She briefly paused her professional career to raise her three children. When she re-entered the work force she continued to work in the non-profit sector.

She has experience in customer service, administrative services, and direct legal services. Alisia previously provided immigration legal services and represented clients before the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the Executive Office of Immigration Review- Omaha Immigration Court.

Alisia enjoys helping her clients manage their day-to-day tasks. Working with clients in a variety of fields keeps each day interesting and brings new opportunities to learn skills. She enjoys the flexibility that working as a virtual assistant offers.

Alisia was born and raised in Nebraska. Alisia lived in Chicago, Illinois for several years and lived in Guanajuato, Mexico where she taught English. In her free time, Alisia keeps busy with her kids’ activities, she enjoys photography, spending time with friends and traveling.​​
